The 1996 implementation of a federally mandated conversion of all television signals in the U.S. to digital broadcasting created a shortage of broadcast tower space. Seizing this opportunity and taking advantage of its expertise in real estate market selection, entitlement, and capital resources, Richland entered the communications and broadcast tower industry, adding key personnel specifically experienced in broadcast transmission and project management of broadcasting towers.
Today, Richland Towers leases space on communication towers we have designed, built and managed for TV and FM radio broadcast industries and other wireless communication operations. Richland's experience in dealing with difficult and diverse land issues provides Richland with a decided advantage over its more unilateral competitors. As such, Richland Towers is rapidly establishing its prominence in the tower leasing industry.
